Today, we look at two well-known verses: “Be still and know that I am God” and the story of Martha and Mary. Like Martha, we can get so caught up in what “needs” to be done. We’re living life constantly distracted, worried, and upset. But Jesus realigns her viewpoint from what her culture dictates to what really matters: the teacher sitting right there, in her home, in front of her.
What is distracting you from learning from sitting at the feet of the great rabbi himself? Is it really more important than listening to Jesus?
Take a moment to be still, know who God is, and listen to His voice. Because when He’s in the room, nothing else matters.
